Graduate course, Illinois Institute of Technology, 2022

Graduate Teaching Assistant, Department of Biomedical Engineering — Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, USA Jan 2022 – May 2022

Supported graduate students in BME 553: Neuroimaging through office hours, project guidance, and exam evaluation. Helped students troubleshoot and understand MRI pulse sequences/protocols, fMRI, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and white-matter tractography, with an emphasis on translating imaging physics into practical analysis workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Led weekly office hours and provided one-on-one support for assignments and final projects
  • Assisted with course logistics and grading (homework, projects, and exams)
  • Reviewed student pipelines and offered feedback on experimental design and interpretation

Topics supported

  • MRI fundamentals and pulse sequences
  • fMRI acquisition and analysis concepts
  • Diffusion MRI / DTI metrics (e.g., FA, MD)
  • Tractography and white-matter pathway interpretation
  • fMRI preprocessing and first-level GLM concepts (SPM, where applicable)
