A dream in progress
A founder’s note
Long before BIBHA had a name or a website, it began as a question I kept returning to: How many talented young people in Bangladesh could contribute to meaningful research if they had better access to mentorship, methods, and opportunity?
My own journey—from studying electrical and electronic engineering in Bangladesh to working across biomedical imaging, neuropathology, and computational brain-health research—showed me both the abundance of talent and the unevenness of access.
BIBHA Institute is my attempt to build a bridge.
The dream is to create a Bangladesh-centered research community where students, researchers, mentors, and institutions can work together on important questions in brain health and aging. The brain remains the scientific center, while vascular, metabolic, behavioral, social, and other whole-person influences remain part of the question.
Beginning with work that can earn trust
I am building BIBHA independently, outside my formal academic role and largely in my own time. It is still an institute in formation. There are no grand claims of scale: the immediate goal is to assemble a thoughtful founding network and complete one transparent, reproducible, no-PHI computational pilot.
That first program is being shaped around vascular and systemic influences on brain health and aging. It will use public or appropriately approved de-identified data, with clear roles, reproducible methods, transparent quality decisions, and a useful record for the next team.
What I hope it becomes
Over time, I hope BIBHA can help capable researchers find a credible place to begin, give mentors a practical way to contribute, and support locally meaningful questions through globally connected methods. But growth should follow evidence of scientific quality, responsible governance, and reliable delivery.
I hope BIBHA will grow through work that earns trust—one question, one team, and one completed contribution at a time.
BIBHA is currently an institute in formation. It is not a clinical service, degree program, funding program, or confirmed institutional partnership.
